Abstract

This research examines the role of technology in shaping urban social networks, focusing on how digital platforms facilitate connections among diverse populations within urban environments. As cities become increasingly interconnected, technology serves as a crucial tool for fostering social interactions, enhancing community engagement, and promoting social capital. The study explores various technological innovations, including social media, mobile applications, and online forums, which enable residents to share information, organize events, and mobilize for social causes. Additionally, it investigates the implications of technology on social inclusion and exclusion, highlighting how access disparities can affect individuals' participation in urban networks. By analyzing case studies from various cities, the research illustrates the transformative potential of technology in bridging gaps between different social groups and enhancing collective action. Furthermore, the findings underscore the importance of understanding the dynamics of urban social networks in the digital age, as they play a significant role in shaping community resilience and response to urban challenges. Ultimately, this research contributes to the discourse on urban sociology by emphasizing the interplay between technology and social connectivity in contemporary urban settings.
